Default more questions about engines

ok so today i walk into this little repair shop near my school that my dad is friends with the owner. he says nice car i said thanks.

next he tells yea i got this high proformance motor sitting at my house do you want it. i asked what makes it high proformance he said i dont know it was at SIR and the car spun the motor so they just left it so we took it. he said the bottom end probably isnt that good but it has a high proformance head that is still good.

so i go to my work tell the guy about this motor and he asked what makes it hi. pro. so i told him the same thing he said why dont we rebuild the whole thing so you start off with a brand new motor and you know the parts that are in it.

i asked well how much do you think it would cost he said around 500. i know i can get the money and me and him could put it all together but where to get the parts.

aaron i was on your website and saw these sites
http://www.bildon.com/
http://www.bertilsengines.com/

the stuff seems expensive. now i have never looked at prices for parts like these so i dont know but that kind of blows the 500 dollar price range out of the water.

is there a place to get cheaper parts.

also what does it mean when you spin the motor i take it probably the same thing as spinning a bearing but i dont know what that is either.

oh and if anyone else didnt notice i change my mind a lot and it pisses me off
