the old ceremic fuses are thin, if the metal is not broken it should be ok, to help further investigate..... why are you looking into your fuel pump fuse as blown? if there is a problem with the fuel pump it could be a few things wrong... although checking fuses is a good first step to any possible electrical problem i think that if its an issue with fuel pumps you should look toward fuel filter, or the fuel pump directly, from what i've seen of bad fuel systems in older vw's i've rarelly heard that the fuel pump fuse blew.... i'd say that if you inspected fuses and they all look intact look toward filter or pump.... is the car fuel injected or carb'd???
