HI I have a 1990 Jetta with an auto transmission. I am currently deployed with the Airforce and my wife called with a problem with the Jetta. It is very sluggish while driving, it seems like it is getting gas, than not getting gas and only happens in drive, not when it is at idle. I had a friend put in new plugs and spark plug wires. ANother friend who is a mechanic says it is the transmission going, can I check the fluid level or is this model and year a sealed transmission. Any other commets on the cause greatly apprecaited THanks
