I have a '90 Fox Wagon that has a clunk in the front left strut. The struts have been replaced along with the strut bearings. It never did seat properly after the new one was installed. I had to put 2 giant washers under the retaining bolt to get the up and down slack out of it. Now I can feel it shifting left to right around corners. Both struts were installed exactly as show in my Bentley diagram. Is there an insert that is missing that properly aligns and spaces the strut to the tower?
