1) clogged fuel filter
2) bad fuel pump fuse
3) bad fuel pump relay
4) bad fuel pump
5) bad fuel pressure regulator
6) varnished/clogged/munged up injectors
7) bad ECU (no signal to injectors)

If you can't hear the fuel pump running - then I'd suspect #2,3 or 4.

You can jumper around the fuel pump relay - but I cannot recall the exact configuration -

If you can hear the fuel pump but arent' getting fuel then check 1,5,6

If the fuel pump turns on initially (for a couple seconds) but doesn't come on when you're cranking (this is tough to diagnose by yourself - some one else listening for the pump OR a test light hooked up so it turns on when current is coming to the pump) would suggest a bad feed from the ECU (i believe that the fuel pumps come on initially then on when they receive a signal indiciating that the ignition is working - to prevent flooding). This could be a bad hal sensor, a bad ECU or something I haven't run into being wrong -
