if your on a budget either aba bottom with a 1.8 head, if you already have a dual down pipe you will have to get a longer down pipe, if you dont have a dual down pipe you need the manidold, techtonics sells the longer pipe, or you can use an audi 80 2.0 bottom end with a 1.8 head and it has the same deck hieght as a 1.7 and 1.8 so you dont need the long down pipe
also an aba has 9.6:1 compression ratio and the audi 80 has I think 10:1, so either was you should put knock sensor ignition on it, i
if you are doing it cheap but good either 2.0 with a 1.8 head has alot of potential so dont let people steer you clear of those swaps
if the 2.0 aba that JFryauff has is a german aba it has oil squirters and forged crank thats the one you want so you might want to get in touch with him.hope that helps
