Default New Passat owner hearing noise from rear driver's side wheel

Greetings all, I'll start out by saying I'm not mechanically inclined at all. (My greatest feat to date was changing the alternator in an old car of mine) but here we go:

I was recently in the market for a used car, and fell in love with the Passat. I ended up buying a beautiful 2002 GLX 4motion. A few days after bringing it home, I am now starting to hear a grinding or metallic rubbing sound coming from what appears to be the rear driver's side wheel. It occurs when going over even the slightest of bumps and seems to be quickly getting louder.

Any ideas?
