When I worked for VW as a salesman in college, I always jumped at the chance to drive them. The V6 is just as good as the V8 in my opinion, and they drive very very nice. More features than I could ever remember and the V8 model with the on the fly suspension adjustment is top notch awesome! As far as reliability consumer reports took a dump on them in 2004 and 2005, but the car has been steadly climbing since. And they are seriously the most comfortable SUV I have ever driven or been in. I agree that I would most deff. stay away from 04's since they were always in for service/problems...
