Default New to VWF and VW.

Hey everyone. Name is Kevin. I'm purchasing a 1999 VW Jetta GLS TDI this week and I want to get a head start on learning about this car. First thing I'll do is oil change, I don't care if the guy I'm buying from just did one or not, I like to do it myself to know for sure. I'll take some pictures of the car when I get it (this weekend probably). Any tips and/or advice you guys can give me? It has 120k miles on it but I figure it's got alot more to go if i'm lucky and keep things running smoothly. I'm mainly buying it for the gas mileage but I might end up putting a little money into improving performance later on. This is my first german car as well. Only other car I've had that I actually spent alot of time and money on was a 96 Dodge Neon. It's time for a change. Thanks ahead of time.
