Default Problem bogging down out of 1st and 2nd

When I accelerate hard from a stop, the car will start to take off, then bog down for a brief moment then take off again. The same thing happens when I shift into 2nd. Perhaps a better way to explain it is that the car jumps forward once I have shifted and started to accelerate again. After it jumps forward, it acts as though I took my foot off the gas and takes off again.

It’s AWD so I SHOULD be able to dump the clutch from a stop with no problem. To remedy the bogging down, I have to keep my foot on the clutch pedal a little longer and it is certainly pointless b/c I’m already in gear and I shouldn’t have to ease off the clutch like that.

I have no relevant trouble codes, and I ghetto fab’ed an intake on b/c I THOUGHT the dirty stock box was the problem. I had a good amount of sand (no idea) in there.

Is this common?
Is there anything I can do?

I have a 2003 A4 3.0 Quattro mt… not sure if its in my signature.
