Being one who was yelled at at first because I didn't know I needed a DV you'd think I'd empathize with that statement, but it has been made rather clear on several portions of this site; particularly the Mark IV forum, that a BOV is a poor investment. A CAI isn't as poor as an investment but it's still been pointed out that it doesn't yield any large benefits, I only got mine because I really liked the noise and as long as it's in the right spot it's not going to harm my engine. Also when you suggest something to someone, I.E. say it in a nice way, they tend not to listen and assume you're just giving advice, and carry through with their initial plans. If anything you should congratulate how they are so dedicated to making sure people who don't know much about their car don't mess it up. I don't hold anything they've said on here against them, if they truly wanted to be assholes, they'd just ignore any request for help, no matter how simple an answer would be.
