Default Driver's Door will not unlatch!!!
1999 Passat GLX 180,000 Miles

Cannot open Driver's Door to remove interior door trim so I can make locking mechanism repairs. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to get to the locking mechanism with the door in the closed position so I can release the latch and open the door? I can tell you that the inner and outer door handles are ok mechanically. The door locks work up and down electronically, manually, and with the key but will not open the latch. I can't make repairs to the inner workings of the door if I can't get it open. If this continues you'll be seing this car on e-bay soon.
