Default 2.3i conversion

Howdy! I have a 2006 1.6i Velociti Mk 1 Golf and I am wanting to embark on the wonderful and exciting journey of upgrading it with the 2.3i conversion (2.3i caravelle pistons with 1.8T crank and conrods, conversion is sometimes labelled Over-Square motor meaning the bore and stroke measurements are equal). Has anyone ever done this mod? where can I source info on the net for this specific conversion? any tricks of the trade i can adopt for a competitive advantage over others who have this mod? I will be keeping the MP9 management system but will be remapping it after the conversion and will add a 272 cam, going for 272 to maintain drivability in the urban setting! can anyone offer me any advice?

many thanks,
.:R
