I think you have made a wise choice.

OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer [specification]. "Mann" is the brand name of the filter that comes standard from the factory on all Jettas.

In my opinion 5-30 full synthetic should serve you well in your climate; unless your winter temps seriously go below zero (F); then you might consider 5-20 full synthetic for the season. Oil brands are a very personal individual choice. While I swear by ELF and Mobil 1 others will swear by Quaker State, Penzoil etc.

Again, in my opinion, as long as you use a "major" brand of oil rated 5-30 (5-20) synthetic and a "full size" major brand oil filter and you change your oil and filter at reasonable intervals your Jetta will perform for you.
