i have the same prob with my cabrio... i have to physically hold my gear in reverse while going back while it makes a god awful clunking noise. if i let go it pops out and grinds. i have to ease on the clutch and play with it.. if im parked on a hill i'm not strong enough to hold it, so i do have to park creatively...
my mechanic says its "missing teeth" on the gear inside the tranny... at least thats the way he explained it to me. i got the car this way about a year and a half ago and its getting worse...
please if anyone can help with any other info please do!!!
