You do not need to remove the trunk lining. The two nuts that need to be removed to replace the taillamp are accessable through the little access hole. There are two silver colored studs visible through this access hole. I believe you just need a 10mm deep socket and remove these nuts after unplugging the harness. The taillamp will then come out.
