I have an mk4 jetta and my drivers side seat heater isn't working but the passenger side IS working.. So I have checked the fuse and it is one fuse for both meaning thats not the problem, so my guess is that the element is burnt out or the wiring somewhere is not covered.. Any ideas of what the problem is and how I should go about fixing it? How much its gonna cost me to repair?
thanks in advance

Hey there again guys! I took my car in to the mechanic today to get a donut put in for the exhaust only to find out that it's not a donut repair, it's a pipe replacement problem. specifically a 'front pipe'? Heres a link to show you what i'm talking about.

That section that bolts up to the block has some flexible tubing on it, and mine is torn to shit with no way to repair. As you can see, those parts aren't cheap. Is there any cheaper way to get this problem fixed? One of my friends suggested headers but I don't think that it would work that way. I honestly don't know since this section is so weird.

I've found these ones here and i've also found this one which confuses me. This confuses me because as you can see in that picture, there are header pipes AND this notorious 'Front Pipe'.

This is something that HAS to be fixed, right now, gas fumes are being (and have been) sucked into the cabin whether i'm sitting or driving. I can't use any climate controls including front defrost which simply won't do in the winter time. I've actually had to just get out of the car because I was starting to feel queezy and tired.

Any help you guys can provide is going to be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Replaced my Battery today, and now my Monsoon Head unit wont turn on. Clearly no power to the unit. Where is the fuse located for it. I dont see anything defining radio on the cabin fuse panel. I read somewhere that you have to put in a factory code to get it to turn on. But I have taken the battery out and battery terminals multiple times and it has worked no problem.

Hello everyone.

I'm having a problem and hoping that anyone had experienced it too.
The problem is that fuel and tachometer gauges are showing incorrectly. When engine works on 850rpm it reads 0 nad when the fuel indicator is below zero. But they are working OK. Just from the wrong point.
The problem occured when i took the fuse F15 out and put it back after a while. Anyone know how to fix the problem?

I just bought an older jetta out of state and I need to transport it here to FL. I have a few options to get the car.
1) I could buy a plane ticket to NC, pick up the car myself and drive it all the back down to sw FL
2) I could have it hauled in a open carrier and it would take 3-5 days to get down here
3) i could use a closed carrier in which my car will be safe and secure from weather and road debris but it will cost a few hundred extra but will arrive in perfect condition.
4) or I could have a friend drive/ ride with me up there and back in another car, less boring but an inconvenience for my friend but he volunteered.

The problem is that I work a steady 9-5 and dont really have time for the drive up and back. what do you think my best option is for me and my car???
