right! car wouldn't start properly and water was disappearing, took it to the local garage, diagnosed a hole in the head gasket. They added a chemical, fixed the problem for a few days. Decided to get head gasket changed, fixed the water loss but not starting first thing in the morning.won't start mainly on cold/wet mornings so got the battery changed, still no difference! what else could it be? had a full service about 6months ago. Alternator was checked and is working at 14volts.

hey everyone,

i have just promised a girl i am keen on that i would take out her existing radio from her 1998 polo, and replace it with a new cd player. however, i can not find a decent wiring diagram online, so if someone could post one up for me i might actually have a shot with her, instead of looking like a complete muppet.
also what is the best method to dismantle the dash etc to follow wires to speakers and retro fit rear speakers. cheers

:confused:last week took my car to a local and trusted garage as i was loosing water. Took them 2 days without charge to diagnose a faulty but not blown head gasket. the problems were things like: loose water sudden
wouldn't start first thing most days
a sweet smell inside the car
                                         over heating

the garage put in some chemical to try to heal the head gasket problem because when they did the compression test it registered as just OK so i decided to get a new head gasket fitted. This has sorted most of the problem but not the starting most mornings especially on cold mornings. once it has started after about 3-5 turns of the key, it well turn over straight away but won't kick into running. Any ideas, it's doing my head!!!!
