Default 09 Jetta malfunction indicator lamp

Hello!

So glad to find this forum. I'm currently leasing a 2009 Jetta - I decided on a VW because I had known so many happy VW customers...but this car has had its issues, and I'm a little frustrated! Tonight, the malfunction indicator light came on. When I looked in the manual, it said that it could mean a lot of things, and I should call the dealership. Not helpful! I searched online and couldn't find much of anything. I didn't notice anything wrong with the car while I was driving - I've driven a lot the last few days, without a problem.

I live in Boston and there hasn't been some crazy weather shift or anything.

The car is gasoline, not diesel. It's an automatic.

I'll end up having to call the dealership tomorrow, I imagine...but this will be my third trip there in a month...and they don't seem to really care that it's a hassle!

Thanks in advance for any thoughts,
Kate
