2005 Mark 4s exist....just like there were 1999 Mark 3s....mid year introductions are awesome, arent they?

Best bet is to find out the invoice price on it (try www.kbb.com ) and negotiate from there.

Did they jack up the prices on these since they are the last mk4 jettas? I remember 5 years ago when i was looking to trade the wrangler in, the new Jeep Liberty's where just coming out replacing the Cherokee. The normal price for the Cher. was 17ish but for a stripped down one they were asking about 25 for it since they knew people would pay it since it was the last one coming in

Yes, cause I had some MK4 stuff in my car (new HU and 6-disc).
No, cause I have a bastardized ECU# and paid what a 1999 MK4 was worth for my car.

Dakoda, they made 04.5 GLIs with the only option being ESP or spoiler and then the 05s had the tiptronic or 6spd, ESP standard and then the option of the spoiler.

I paid 23,500 for my 2005. It stickered for a bit over 25,000. It is an auto and a GLI. We countered the dealer 7 times until we got the price were we wanted it. It took longer because they wanted to screw me on my trade.

I would think that you could pick one up for a little over dealer invoice in a month or so. You'd have to shop around alot.

And a one-off wiring system.
