coil pack went out!
ive got 12500 miles on my 2002 gti, i went to start it to goto work the other day and it ran rough, check engine light, and most of all... really bad sulfer smell from the exhaust, i thought the cat had collapsed...any way turns out to be a coil pack, i see others have had the same problem at varying mileage, i got rid of my last car for exactly this same reason!!!, i bought 10 coil packs for that car (96 Firebird v6, 1 coil per 2 cylinders)and it never stopped blowing them.
it seems that a few other ppl have replaced the rest of their coil packs shortly after the first one goes, should i replace them all since it seems that if one goes bad it damages the rest or possibly the whole entire ignition system?? does anyone have any info on aftermarket coil packs that would be better?
