Default Looking to buy

I'm looking to buy a 1992 cabolet. it is a soild little car.Has some engine work needed..Well I was looking for advice on what to look for as "problem areas"Any help with this.I'll keep a post on here if I get the car thanks

Well now that I myself am becoming slowly educated on the Mk1's I can say the biggest thing to check is for rust. Check the strut towers, underside of the hood, front floor boards, in the corners of the hatch inside and out, and around the exhaust cut-out. If possible remove the right rear wheel and inspect the fuel filler down tube for rust as well.
