Default Need help with check engine light errors.

I have a 2000 passat 2.8.

I have the ABS/BRAKE FAULT ERROR.... But i think i know how to fix that.

But I had the check engine light checked today...

And well i forgot some of the errors. But I believe they are connected.

It says I have a misfire on cylinder number 3. But the engine runs PERFECT. Does not shake violently, no weird noises.... Besides a tick.. I think it might be a lose rocker arm.

And an error with the 02 sensor. I DO NOT want to replace them If I do not have to. 3 of them totaling like $400 new.

I got the car for $250. The CCM had a corroded wire... So nothing worked... But I got it fixed, and this was a killer deal for me.

Thanks.

Tyler

Also I just found out something new. I got it from the guy and he said that the motor mounts were bad. He replaced them and said that he guesses that they went bad again because he did not replace the transmission mounts at the same time..

Well I did some searching, and he never put the front motor mount bracket back on......

So where do I find this bracket?

craig@vwdiscountparts.com will hook you up with all those parts for under dealer cost. As far as the ABS light you probably have a bad brakelight switch or ABS module. The misfire was probably just a dirty plug, pull the plug and see if it needs replacing.

Anyone else..?

Would bad oxygen sensors cause this misfire error?

Did you try checking the plugs like I told you to? I'm pretty sure the 2.8 uses wasted spark so it's not a coilpack or you would have two cylinders misfiring, the other 3 likely options are spark plugs, wires, and MAF sensor

I haven't checked the plug yet... Been raining.

Where do the 02 sensors plug up at? Where are the front two located?

And the car likes to be a little sluggish now... And it EATS gas.

I am assuming 02 sensors, but I am not buying them and it not be the problem.
