Default SuperSport Sprint Suspension.

Just been on the hunt for some new suspension for my car (golf MK3 1.6Mpi)

At the moment its pretty much standard with a couple of tweeks such as strust braces new induction set up and very good tyres(albeit on crap alloys).

Anyway, as my old suspension (which is as old as the car.. so 11 years old) is now dead i decided now would be a good time to lower it a touch (due to deep chin splitter the fronts only about 2.5 inch off the ground as standard).

My plan was buy some bilstien B4 gas shock (these are effectivly standard) and then i was going to buy some 40mm drop progressive springs as i have heard good reviews about this combination. This came to a total of £224

Before purchasing i had a look into some other suspension packages and then one of the guys at my local car modifying factor told me about supersport sprint kits. he explained how they are shortened and slightly uprated shock with lowering springs inc, and this package was £184 so i decided to order those.

Has anyone got any experience of supersport sprint kits and if so what are they like?

I have searched for reviews and found very few. but 2 of the 5 i found said the coilovers by supersport are shite but the fixed height fixed rate kits are good.

Any info would be great.

Thanks

DW

I have never tried them, but experience has taught me that with coil overs, you get what you pay for. A decent set would generally be more than that. I prefer using Strut/Spring separate combinations, and well known brand names at that. I stay away from any adjustable coil overs and companies that I haven't heard of in any racing circles.

A buddy of mine had a supersport kit on his MK III VR6 and he didn't like the stance but he said it rode fairly well
