Default 16 valve swap out

I need to know what I need to get rid of my 8v and put in a 16v. What all do I need? I know where I can get the doner car. And can anyone tell me how complicated this would be. Even better is there a website that will give me step by step instructions on how to do this?

Forgot to address that one in the PM you sent me.

All the standard MK1 motor mounts work.

You will need a Scirocco 16v manifold and downpipe or a header designed for a 16v MK1. Depending on how you want to do it you can use either intake manifold. Using the Scirocco 16v intake means getting to keep your injection on the drivers side, and the A2 stuff means having to switch sides.

Moving everything to the passenger side is a little more work as it requires you to make some kind of airbox (I usually use a Dasher upper box half and a hacked up Rabbit lower) and you need to figure out fuel lines and filter. Once it's done though it makes life a lot easier as anyone who's ever worked on a 16v Scirocco can tell you there simply isn't enough room with the injection on the drivers side.

Donor cars include any 16v MK2 (90-92 were 2L 16vs) but if you want to use the driver side airbox setup a 16v Scirocco is best.

Longblocks were the same, so if you find a MK2 motor and Scirocco injection and manifold on Ebay it will all bolt together.

So I can keep the same ecu and all the wiring is going to stay the same? And I don't even need to get the whole engine, all I really need is the head and intake. What else should I gather off the donor?

You need the ECU, complete wiring, injection including fuel distributor, injectors and lines, all intake tubes, vacuum hoses, breather hoses and the COMPLETE ENGINE. Swapping the head wont work.
