Default 80 hare performance

I just bought a 1980 rabbit convertible with the 5 speed transmission and the 1.6liter. I am look at trying to keep it with the stock motor yet performance it out as much as possible. I was wondering if the 1.8 liter parts may work as far as the crank, cams, lifters and valves, and pistons if bored and stroked without having to change heads or anything. I was also wondering if anyone knows if the 16v manifold for turbos will fit up on it. Any information will be greatly appreciated.
