83 4spd to 5spd possible?

Does anyone know for sure if a 5 speed from an 83 cabrio will bolt right up to a 83 rabbit? I currently have a 4 speed and am wanting to upgrade to the 5. I have heard differing thoughts on how easy this would be. Thanks in advance!

it goes in but ypu gotta use all the shift linkage from a 5 speed car

sweet, thanks! I have to pull it so i'll be sure to get the linkage as well. Im thinking aboutgetting the grill and round headlights too. we'll see. thanks for the quick response
