83 Jetta on gas,won't start.

I had a problem with my tail lights and when I found the short and fixed it then it just won't start.It was running fine then I turned it off and now it turns over but won't start.I thought maby it was out of gas and put more in but all it does is turns over any sugestions.

My car is running fine now.It was a little leak that ran down under the dash and shorted out the wires on the fuse panel.I just dried it up and cleand the contacts and it's good as new!The leak however came from the sun roof and worked it's way down the window seal and through the dash right over the fuse panel and I would have never known there was a leak without that happening.Guess I never needed anyones advise from here after all lol!
