Default Can you turbo an 8V V W

Hey I'm not very bright, don't really have much money... But I want my 8v to move is their any way to turbo it...

not something you should do without alot of money though, the kits alone are around 3000 and u should look linto upgraded tranny, suspension and brakes

think of it this way ...
you're bright enough to ask about this before blindly jumping into it. the truth is you can turbocharge anything. the questions is will you do it safely and efficiently?

now, i agree with mk4-gasm on this. however, i think what you should is go and read up on turbocharging engines and save your money while doing so. when you figure out what your goals are and what will best fulfill them - for example, will you be better off rebuilding the engine for boost or do you just want a low-boost system for high compression? then come and ask the specific questions that you'll have by then.

Actually, there's a write up on Vortex about how to turbo your 1.8 8v using the older diesel turbos from the diesel MKII's and such. Look it up at vwvortex.com....

Its not that hard of a thing to do if you have th knowledge and know what your doing. But life Aaron, Josh all them said I would read up on all of it. Grab a few of them books they posted and go to town on them and learn so stuff. Just so you dont just jump into this and end up losing money. But best of luck, and let us know how everything goes with it.
