Default coil problem

i just replaced my stock coil with a msd aftermarket one. unfortunatly i took the wires off the coil to quickley and cant remeber how they went back on. (i know newbie mistake)Can anyone tell me what colors go on the negitive and positive. It is off of a 1984 rabbit gti. the four wires that go to the coil are a (green, and black) they come from one wiring harness. and a black, and a red wire. they come from another harness. thanks for any help you guys can give me

Really can't answer your question, but if you plan on doing more work on your dub, a real good cheap investment is a beantly manual. they help a great deal.

Default coil problem

Usually the general rule of thumb is:

Black and White are -ve. But please double check with somebody.

When everything else fails I would go with both black as -ve and the white as -ve.

Also you could use the polarity tester that you can obtain from any good electronics store for less then 10 US. [img]images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img]
