Default could someone tell me approximetly what this car is worth

i just bought a 82 rabbit diesel deluxe with an automatic transmission, it is in mint condition with all original acceesories, it has 101000 miles on it, and it in perfect condition. it also has the economy feature.
i am getting ready to paint it, because the paint is fading.

i am wondering what its worth, if you have any idea please let me know.

Without seeing pics would be hard to guess but a ballpark would be $800-$2200. for fare to good, but excellent? Meaning like it belongs in a museum? I have seen some go to collectors for up to $6000.

To a true collector it'll probably be worth more if you don't repaint it - original means exactly that - original. A collector would expect normal wear items (belts, tires, brake components) to be replaced - but a respray could hurt the value.

going to post any pictures of your find?

as soon as it comes back from service i will post some pics.

i got a 82 rabbit diesel, automatic with economy feature.
it is white, and it is perfect condition, mechanically, and interior.
the outside could use paint.
it has 101000 miles on it.
i drove it, and it runs likde it is brand new, the previous owners were insane about keeping it serviced.
i bought it for 400 bucks, i know i could sell it on ebay for atleast 1500-2000, but i love these cars and i am going to hold on to it for now.

Keep it stock! It is only of value to someone who appreciates old VWs. With the price of fuel rising, the diesel is king. I had a 1980 diesel that got over 40 mpg consistently. Just don't try to pass anyone....ever. It has 48 hp, and if it has A/C don't make a left turn in front of anyone, it will take another 10 seconds to get going!

I have an 84 convertible that I am restoring, although it has a neuspeed suspension.

i have an 83 auto diesel, pretty swell car haha half decent mileage and u don't have to shift, what kind of mileage do you get? i got 40mpg on the highway and usually about 36 for city/country driving. all of the auto diesels had the economy feature because they shake like crazy when u have them in drive at a stop light haha. it's a unique little box though.
