Default electrical issues????

Hey Hey!!

I have a small problem with my 81 rabbit convert. I just put in a new stero and when I was hooking it up I accidently hit a couple of wires and saw smoke. Now when I put the keys in the ignition I don't get the buzzer sound that I used to get unless I press the key into the ignition really hard. The only way the stero works is when I do this but as soon as I release the keys then no more power. When i turn the ignition on I also get no power in the stereo even I press the keys in hard. I checked the fuses and they all look good. Does anyone have any ideas??

Double check all the fuses again usually this is the case. If not when you connected the wires by accident the ends of them could of got fried. Meaning you may have some bad connections. I would try trimming the wires back for a fresh connection; if the fuses checkout to be ok.

Best of luck!
