Default Electrics on Mk1 Cabriolet

Hi all this is my first post as an owner of a MK1 VW Golf Cabriolet GLI 1981 X reg.

It is a beautiful example of a 25yr old car the engine is in great condition and the body is stunning.

However there is a down side! 3 days after i bought the car it refused to start, so i called out the RAC and their man found out that the relay wasnt kicking in, eventually he got it started, but this was not the and of the problem! apparantly the fuse box has been replaced 3 yrs ago but it was done v v v badly it appears that there has been some cutting and shutting of wires. now it isn't working at all, a few sparks and dead!

to cut along story short does anyone know of any deacent cheap(ish) places i can get a good job done in south east london?
