Default How do you use an engine stand?

Another question: I've got a spare 1.6 diesel laying around that came with the Rabbit. I want to rebuild it. Just bought a generic engine stand but can't seem to find any literature on where or how to mount the engine to the stand (the stand instructions say "see manufacturers recommendation" and Bentley doesn't mention it). What bolts do I use? What holes on the block?

As always, thanks

The two top bellhousing holes just below the cylinder head surface and the two lower bellhousing holes that stick off the block on 'ears'. I've been known to use whatever is close at hand. Usually head bolts.

Thanks. I'll give that a try.

Oh yes, the two lower holes will have alignment sleaves in them. You can knock them out with a screwdriver and hammer so the block sits squarly against the stand.
