Default mint 1983 rabbit GTI 400$!!!

I was talking to my friend and mentioned that i love the vw rabbit and he talked to his dad who talked to a friend and long story short i found the rabbit i have always wanted!!!

so pretty much its a 1983 vw rabbit without a speck of rust!!!!! it has a top of the line suspension kit and he bought the fenders from the 1984 rabbit to prevent rust (after he undercoated it). the interior is perfect not evin faded and no rips or tares and i couldent beleave my eyes when i saw it. this guy was the only owner of the car and bought it off the lot in 83. he kept it well maintained and he was almost in tears when making the sale! for this guy money obviously isn't problem because if he didn't sell it he was going to donate it. he wasint going to sell it at the time but he saw how interested i was in it and what i wanted to do with it and he said he would rather me have it than some one else.

this vw is obviously a 1.8L and has about 295,000km on it but im going to replace the motor anyways its black in color and has a red'ish pin stripe. i had my dads friend check it out and he has been working on vw's for a looong time!!

I DONT KNOW HOW I RAN INTO THIS DEAL!!!!
please post your opinion on this deal. and i will be posting pictures as i fix this car up (mainly the motor)

So you never said what you paid for it. Ha Ha.

Welcome to VWForum! You are lucky to come across an unchanged Mk1 GTI. I suppose you're in Canada because of the km.

If we don't have pics in this thread soon I may have to lock it up.

Keep us posted.

Welcome to TM Tuning - your # 1 source for VW & Audi OEM and aftermarket parts but there has to be some one in the states that sells them as well.

I think you want a Mk1 jetta setup then. Try the classifieds on vortex.

well i was going to but i think im going to keep the body and interior original because there in perfict condition! the suspension is allrety done it has a short shif kit and a close ratio tranny so i just need to do the egine!

he put in an after market sterio but every thing he took out is still there!

The body is in great shape!

needs some work!

cool little panel he installed so you only have to tap into the battery once!
i dont know how to use it tho!!!!
