Default MOTOR SWAP HELP...

So my Cabriolet, it is very weak... I don't like my motor, the clutch is gone, and its more of a hassle than anything, I was thinking of parting it and doing an engine swap into my 1989 Vw cabriolet... does anyone have any ideas on which engine... I was thinking a 1.8t if I had the money or a 16v... Please give me some ideas and some sources of people with motors would be awesome... thanks guys...

The cheapest would be a 16v swap it is also very easy if you know what your doing or can be shown. They can be found all around in old B3 passats. After that all you need is a golf tranny with the bigger axels. I like to use the ones from the old 8v gli. Also easy to find around here for cheap. The 1.8T swap is way more expencive and not a novice job. Alot of wiring is involved and parts are pricey for the swap
Locate harry's U pull it in PA he has 3 locaions I have found all my parts for past rides in thesee bone yards

i agree that the 16V is easier to complete and less expensive, but if you still get that 1.8T itch then check this ...

Do the 16V!!!! No the 16V and the 1.8T would both be good swaps. I just think the 16V would be a better swap, easier, less exspensive, and just as fast when done right. But good luck
