NEED HELP!!! spraying fluid

got a 4K tranny in my 79 rabbit, theres no speedo cable, the hole is plugged,could it leak from the bolt hole beside te speedo hole? i cant find the leak, when i drive it, it leaks/sprays, anyone help me out what to chek for the leak?

is the axle seal bad? maybe leaking onto the axle then slinging it everywhere?

Can you tell from the spray pattern where the fluid MIGHT be coming from? I cannot recall if the speedo cable fixing bolt goes through the case - but you might want to run a bolt into the hole just to be sure -

Could it be the differential seals ?

Have you changed anything (in other words - on 10/10 I had a speedometer and my tranny didn't leak, on 10/12 I removed the speedo cable and shoved a cork into the hole , on 10/13 I noticed that my gearbox was leaking all over the place) - that sort of thing?

If you can't figure it out from the spray pattern - clean it (car wash) first - that'll make it easier to find the leak - then run it - pop the hood and take a look. Sometimes you can use a dye in the oil that'll show up with a black light - makes it easier to find leaks -

i plugged to bolt hole, i gotta get som fluid tomorrow to top if off before i see if that fixed it, i plan on gettin a cable this weekend, and by the way, there not numb i just cant feel em most of the time
