Default New motor block for my '82 Jetta C Diesel

I purchased a '92 Golf II TD block, but that doesnt fit very well. Mountings are different, so is the drive shaft. Does anyone know how to ajust this, or is it better to purhase another block?
and which one should that be?

your post says "block" but the content reads more like a whole engine/trans package - the block (or just the engine, with MK1 mounts attached) should be fine - the axles will be different (front suspension on a MK2 is quite different from a MK1 and I recall it's a bit wider as well) -

Perhaps someone else can trumpet in - I've owned MK1 and MK2 diesels - but will admit I never tried to shove a MK2 TD into a MK1 tub -

i did mean the whole pack, engine and transmission...

but the engine mounts are different too, so just switching the engine's is not very easy either.
is there a way to purchase ajusted mounts somewhere?

Ahh .. when you said "block" I initially assumed just that - an engine block. What you've got there is a powertrain!

Are the bosses for the MK1 mounts cast into the MK2 block? If so just bolt MK1 mounts to the MK1 bosses and remove/discard the MK2 mounts - I know the mounts changed between MK1 and MK2 - but as I recall the bosses (castings in the block threaded to accept engine mount bolts) were still there for both chassis types in the MK2 years -
