Default Rabbit with a heart transplant

Hello all,

I am in the midst of an engine swap for my '84 Rabbit convertible. My 'new' engine is from an '87 Golf (CIS-E injection), but for convenience's sake, I would like to use the fuel injection from my original engine (the old CIS injection). Everyone I talked to at the engine shops & wrecking yards said "Sure it'll be work in your '84," but as I was hooking up stuff, I noticed that my new engine doesn't have a control pressure regulator on the side of the block like the other engines I saw at the wrecking yard (I go there to practice before I try stuff on my own car). This leaves me with two unconnected fuel lines.

Is there a model of engine that does NOT have this regulator on the block or is mine simply missing? I can pull the one from my old engine if that's the case. I will probably become a familiar name on this site because I'm about to tackle the electrical connections.

Thanx in advance for any & all help.

CIS-E didn't have a control pressure regulator so yeah, just swap yours onto the motor. If you were looking at MK2 motors that had control pressure regulators you were looking at early ('85) MK2s.
