Seems like fuel cut under load 82 rabbit 4dr

hey was wondering if anyone can help...i bought an 82 one owner that is in great shape alotta miles but body is great and most everything else is to...i will be goin down the highway goin to get on it a lil and it seems to cut fuel like lose power a minute buck a lil and then go again...never shuts off...this has only happened 3 times so far but want to take care of it...i'm thinkin something witht the fuel filters or pump...please let me know...will post pics soon she is a gem..$600 for it and i love it i was posting on here with my cabby but she took out a deer at 70mph and the antlers went thru the door will have pics of that to...she is being rebuilt by my cousin all mk1s must live on...thanks

i had a similar problem that got progressively worse. it ended up being the injector o-rings and the bungs that they lock into were all dry rotted. replaced both and have been jiggy since.
