will be visiting wrecking yard shortly...
i am wondering which other marques of cars other than a Rabbit/Golf/GTI would have STIFFER rear springs so that the rear will keep from sagging if cargo area is heavily loaded! (perhaps increase the ride height a bit?) Any input is much appreciiated! John. p.s. 1980 4 door non-turbo diesel rabbit |

At places like Pep Boys you can buy rubberish spring spacers - jack up the back of your car - insert a couple in between the coils - lower car - it'll stiffen up the rear and raise it a bit - if you want it higher/stiffer just add more spacers. That's the cheapest way (it works - really helps if you're - say - running an aux fuel tank in the boot of your diesel) -
They work on any coil spring, by the way, so you could use them on the fronts as well (check for clearance issues with the strut first!) - |
