Default tire sizes!!!

it is damn near impossible in my search to find 205/40R/16 in CT for under $120 each, walmart has them for 150+. i was wondering, i have 4 rims, 2 with good tires and i need 2 more, what would be a good place to find them.

also is it possible to put a different size tire for the other 2 wheels 205/50/16

oh yeah, the car is a 1990-91 golf with high miles, and in need of a tune up...about to do it all. its for my baby bro, his first 5spd, so its mainly looks for him.

the wheels are bbs 16" and in need of some low pro tires

help!!!!! thank you

well going to a 50 side wall is making the tire bigger not smaller, but it will work. If you rotate the tires to the front it will throw off the speedo though. try tirerack, but your basically gonna have to pay for a good all season tire. $120 a tire isn't that bad for a good tire. especially if it includes moutning and balancing.

Discount Tire has the 205/40-16 Kumho Ecsta AST for $76 here in my area according to their website. The website prices reflect walk in prices too. Not a bad price for some low cost tires.
