Default Are ISVs interchangeable?

The idle stabilizer on my car is bad, and I'm looking for a new one. The part number is 037 906 457D. I have a chance to get one with the part number 037 906 457C, which I believe is from the 91+ 8v engines. Will this work for my car? They are visually identical and the plug is the same.

BTW, I have an 89 Jetta GL with the 8v engine.
