limp mode?

right now im calling it limp mode cause i have no idea what else to call it haha, but my 91 golf gl seems to got into this kind of stutter when you start to step on it real hard , it feels like maybe the gas isnt mixing fast enough or tho o2 sensor? just wondering if any body has had the same problem or knows what it is , thanks.

my 1991 1800 gl at the monment when i pull away when abit cold it loose power but if i put foot on throttle smoothly it ok but mine ticks over bad

i looked under bonnet and could hear air leaking so i mested about and found there was air getting sucked in on the rubber mount on bottom of carb so theres a split ive never notice the air before so im hoping the problem is becuse of split rubber

ive ordered a new one

check the bottom rubber mount if split more airs getting in
or like you say not enough fuel check fuel filter
