Default mk2 timing belt cover?

I just bought a 91 golf gl , and everything is fine but it seems to be missing the top piece of the timing belt cover, Im just wondering if thats problem to be driving around with out , and if so how easy is it to fix?considering the part on ebay is only 12 bucks can i do it myself?

Stop by the dealer and see if Etka skows if it is a one or two piece upper cover. Some of the later ones the top cover was in two pieces. It is easy to install and will keep fingers and other things out of the belt.

You should have that cover on, because if something falls in there while it's running, serious damage can occur. It's an easy install, you should have no problems with that.
