Need Help
hey.
i have a 90 golf GSL. around 8 months ago i changed the battery. as of lat weekend it wound not start so i cleaned off all of the corrosion (on the battery, the starter solenoid and the ground conection.) the car has power but will not start. when you turn the key it will just click and turn everything else off. but if i Boosted the car it started up Immediately and would work no problem. i ended up needing to make a 6 hour trip and my battery light never came on the whole trip after it was started. the mech thinks it is the alternator but if the car would run for 6 hours after it started would that be true. any ideas from people who have had this issue?
