Default Oil pressure light,HELP

my oil pressure light keeps coming on. I have lots oil pressure, i check ed with a pressure checker. It doesn't come on untill i rev up the car. I unpluged both oil pressure sensors and the light still comes on. I was reading there is a control unit behind the tach. Do those units go bad?????

Default In a similar boat.

I drive a 1990 GTI Wolfsburg and the oil light is coming on and buzzing. I checked the oil and everything seems fine. However, whenever I depress the clutch and rev it up a grand or two, it stops temporarily. Any ideas? Please and thanks.

One or both of your oil sensors are bad. There is one on the right driver side of cylinder head and one on top of the oil filter adapter. They are probably crudded up. I would change them. Note, they are two different type pressures. I think the upper one is low and the lower one is high.
