swiss cheese the intake box. theres a thread somewhere on here with some real good pics and directions. easy/cheap way to get started. I havent tried it yet, but supposedly its much better than buying a intake with a cone filter, def. seems feasible.

Default sure thing

there is a cone in the front ,bottom half of your air box. remove this .
and ur good to go . it faces forward and you dont have to drill anyholes.
just put an aftermarket filter. should soud throaty when your done.
plugs and wires are always a good bet.
i ahve a 90 . sounds great..

Yes I took the silencer out (the cone thingy) and it defiantly sounds good. A better exhaust and a header and high flow cat will really help too.

Also check to see which 8v you have , if you are looking at the motor look down right behind the coolant line going into the block there should be a smooth spot on the engine block with with some letters and numbers ectched into it the first two letters are the engine code you want " PF " this is the 10:1 compression motor which is a alot better then your basic 8.5:1
a cam and chip will give you good power, and a header is good but you might allready have a factory style 4-2-1 exhaust mani which flows pretty good and is alot cheaper then buying a header.

here's some good sites for performance parts:

ecstunning.com
techtonicstunning.com
performance-cafe.com

id put a 4-2-1 header with a good open exhuast like 2-1/4 from the header back. then also have a good intake system more air going through is better for when you have a built motor

street port,3 angle valve grind, shaved .040 head, cam, high rev valvesprings, port matched throttle body and intake manifold, k&n drop filter with swiss cheese airbox, abd big bore intake tube, good quality after market header, punched cat, nice 2.25 exhaust with decent quality muffler, underdrive pulleys, light weight flywheel with new clutch

all can be done for a fair price....you will instantly notice the difference

deffenently do some good suspension and brakes under the car before you add power mods though. drop the bitch
