Default 99 jetta not start new body style and it has a brand new ignition

hey im buyin a 99 jetta low miles from a friend of mine he replace the ignition and it still wont start and this just happen one day it ran then wouldent start it does crank i havent got to check the spark but im pretty sure it has spark and im lookin for help this is pretty much the only car ive never worked on and im looking for some help if anyone could let me know information on what else happens to these that would be great thanks alot and this has the 2.0 motor in it

please help me and i also heard it could be the alarm transmiter ? and if anyone gives me an answer on what they think it is could you give me a price to if you know thanks

i got about half way through your post and couldn't make sense of it anymore. how about some puncuation? im not trying to be an asshole but i can't help you if i can't understand wtf you're saying. if you have the "newer" 99 body style then you want to go here:
