Cam shaft timing
I got my 1st vw a 2001 cabrio and I am replacing the timing belt, my question is when setting the cam at TDC there seems to be pressure and it wants to snap either left of right. I would think the valves are closed and there should be little or no resistance/pressure.
I have read a lot of the posts on the topic of replacing the belt and aligning the timing marks and couldn't find any this on this subject. I haven't ever worked on an engine with overhead cams and don't know if this normal.
